The Chicken and The Horse

There was a farmer who collected horses; he only needed one more breed to complete his collection. One day, he found out that his neighbor had the particular horse breed he needed. So, he constantly bothered his neighbor
until he sold it to him. A month later, the horse became ill and he called the veterinarian, who said:

- Well, your horse has a virus. He must take this medicine for three days. I'll come back on the 3rd day and if he's not better, we're going to have to put him down.
Nearby, the chicken listened closely to their conversation.
The next day, they gave him the medicine and left. The chicken approached the horse and said:
- Be strong, my friend. Get up or else they're *going* to put you to sleep!

On the second day, they gave him the medicine and left. The chicken came back and said:
- Come on buddy, get up or else you're going to die! Come on, I'll help you get up. Let's go! One, two, three...

On the third day, they came to give him the medicine and the vet said:
- Unfortunately, we're going to have to put him down tomorrow. Otherwise, the virus might spread and infect the other horses. After they left, the chicken approached the horse and said:
- Listen pal, it's now or never! Get up, come on! Have courage! Come on! Get up! Get up! That's it, slowly! Great! Come on, one, two, three... Good, good. Now faster, come on.... Fantastic! Run, run more! Yes! Yay! Yes! You
did it, you're a champion!!!

All of a sudden, the owner came back, saw the horse running in the field and began shouting:
- It's a miracle! My horse is cured. This deserves a party. Let's kill the chicken!

Points for reflection: this often happens in the workplace. Nobody truly knows which employee actually deserves the merit of success, or who's actually contributing the necessary support to make things happen.

LEARNING TO LIVE WITHOUT RECOGNITION IS A SKILL! If anyone ever tells you that your work is unprofessional, remember: amateurs built the Ark and professionals built the Titanic.

Workplaces can be like Madhuvan, but they are more often Kurukshetras

The story of Krishna can be divided into two parts: the Bhagavata part and the Mahabharata part. The first part is where he is in Madhuvan, playing the flute, drawing the milkmaids to dance with him outside the village, at night, in the forest. It is a place that is not governed by fear, or rules, or obligation, yet everything is synchronized to form a perfect circle.

The second part is where he is in Kurukshetra, riding a chariot, leading warriors to a bloodbath. It is a place of fear and rules and obligations and vendetta, where all rules of decency collapse.

Every employee who joins an organisation, hopes it to be Madhuvan: a place of joy and hope and growth and teamwork. Every employee who is leaving an organization describes the situation as Kurukshetra: a place of struggle and politics and insensitivity. We want our worlds to be governed by the principles of Bhagavata, but we are often faced with the terrible ways of the Mahabharata.

In a large company of seventy thousand people, Milind found his team of seven people always groaning and complaining and being nasty about everyone and everything from the management to the customer. As a young team leader, he felt he was in the heat of a Kurukshetra battle every day. He realized that every organization had the same grouses with the management, with the admin, with the customer, with teammates. This is how most organizations were, even those who claimed very publicly to be employee-friendly.

Maybe, he realised, this is how every employee sees an organization and everyone expects the world around him to transform. Who established Madhuvan and Kurukshetra? Does Krishna create these spaces or these spaces create Krishna? Are we fountainheads of circumstances or victims of circumstances?

Milind decided he had enough of the ‘issues’. Every day he would focus on what was positive in both professional and personal life. No negative conversations allowed, except on Tuesdays – which he called ‘vent-day’. Every day Milind would only discuss positive things. When there was a problem, the focus was on solutions. When there was a complaint, the focus was on resolution. He encouraged his team to do the same. They agreed reluctantly.

On Tuesday, Milind wore a black shirt and the day was spent only complaining and whining and in bouts of intense irritation. It took getting used to but in a few weeks, Milind’s team was a happier team, all organizations issues notwithstanding. Milind took a stand: he would transform his little world into Madhuvan.

He realized the importance of the chariot festival of Jaggannath Puri where devotees pull the giant chariots hoping to bring Krishna back from Kurukshetra to Madhuvan. The point is to discover that only we, on our own, can close the Mahabharata chapter in our life and open the pages of the Bhagavata. If we wait for management to do it, we may be waiting for a long, very long, time.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:

· Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,

Lesson 1: Naked Wife

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.

After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 dollars and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks,…

“Who was that?” “It was Bob the next door neighbor,” she replies. “Great!” the husband says, “Did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?”

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish” “Me first! Me first!” says the administration clerk. “I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.” Poof! She’s gone. “Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii,relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.” Poof! He’s gone. “OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 3

A priest offered a lift to a Nun. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said,”Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest removed his hand. But,changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.” Arriving at the convent, the nun went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”

Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 4

A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A rabbit asked him,”Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?” The crow answered: “Sure, why not.” So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the crow, and rested.

A fox jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very high up.

Lesson 5: Power of Charisma

A turkey was chatting with a bull “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.” “Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.” The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:

1. Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy

In this day and age, we live in a hook-up world, where relationships rarely evolve from a steamy night of passion. So, it’s important for women to be emotionally prepared for one-night stands and/or casual sex, as well as its aftermath.
In an effort to help women get over jerks who like to “hit it and quit it,” I devised a few simple rules that may possibly make heartbreak a thing of the past. A student asks a teacher, "What is love?"

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.

But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to

The student went to the field, go thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wonders..may be there is a bigger one later.

Then he saw another bigger one.. But may be there is an even bigger one waiting for him.

Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he know he has missed the biggest one, and he regretted.

So, he ended up went back to the teacher with empty hand.

The teacher told him, "..this is love.. You keep looking for a better one, but when later you realize, you have already miss the person.."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.

Wake up India ( Jagoe India Jagoe)

The small incident that happened to me when I was traveling to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata that inspires a lot of people.
On 10th Spetember’09, I was traveling from Bhubaneswar to kolkata for some official work. The Train- Puri Express (2338) was late by 1 hrs(actual arrival time was 9:45 PM). I have noticed two prominent people who were talking about some moral responsibility & general duty of citizen at plateform. At that time, I had ignored those small conversations. The moment, train came and I had boarded the on S10 (my seat no was 30-SU). Suddenly I noticed that the platform wala two people also boarded on same coach and also within the same compartment with seat number of 25 & 26. The TT came after almost 10 min around 10 mins later of departure. They have enquired to the TT about do some thing to fill the supply of water in the toilet (as there was no water supply in the toilet as usual at Indian Railways). TT said that he could not able to do any thing for that and blamed it on staff of Puri Station. They said politely to the TT “you are only person who is representing the railways in the running train”. He said if you would give written complain, then he might passed it to station master only. The answer was not satisfactory to those people. The main person (His name was Pankaj??- we both have same first name) who seemed to be ask his other companion to give the mobile. He called to any number (Later it was came to know that it was railway complain number- 1800112511) and told to him about situation. The person from other side have given the Howarh Number (033-26381743) and asked him to speak to that number. The Railway person also spoke to the TT. The TT assured him that at Cuttack, water would be filled. Then Pankaj (not me) called on Howarh Number and complain about the situation, the person from Howrah was not at all cooperative and also said to his colleague “Sala, ek adami bar bar apne mobilese call kar pani ke liye parshan kar raha hai--????JOd” He has used sala so much time and to avoid the situation, he had given some wrong number of Bhubaneswar and ask him to called at that number. Pankaj asked him politely “ I am calling you first time and also you are using such slang language for me and this is not right way to talk to any one” He started making excuses then. Pankaj also told him that Now honorable minister was also from kolkata, so what type message should go to public. The railway person dropped the call. Again Pankaj had called to railway complain number and that person to register the complain for Kolkata railway staff. He explained the entire scenario to him. The Complain cell person asked few detail like PNR, Train Number, Seat No, Name, Address, Mobile Number. The he had given the complain number (First time-I came to know such thing can be happened) along with at what time it registered. Then he said to all near by Passenger that their intention was to aware the Right to information to all not to make a issue, They were from one of the NGO of Delhi and they were going to Patna from Bhubaneswar. They had already registered twice before for other issue and they got immediate results. They also said “ yaha par har koi so raha hai”. Finally I calculated that he had wasted more than 80 RS. on roaming and also he was not need to use the toilet. That was something which touches to most of passenger.
But the story does not end here. Once the cuttack cross, the TT said to him the there was no staff at station to fill the water at bathroom. Pankaj asked him that you need to sign the application or written document for this. He wrote a letter cum complain in English about the entire situation and asked the TT to sign. At starting he was annoying to sign on that paper. But he made him to Sign. Then he said to all that he would file a PLI in the court for this. Then we all went to sleep. Next morning, when I waked up, I found that water was available at the toilet.
I really salute to those type people who not only come forward but make the people aware of their right. Jagoe India Jagoe re.

Distance- it kills or it flourishes the relationship!!

It is very common thinking that distance always kills the relationship. The moment, you go away from a person, your relation starts also getting away as time pass. But there are some cases or some people where we have seen that it flourishes the relation. Once you apart from some one, you start thinking the important of that relationship. Your attachment gets closer to that person. Of course we do miss someone or something, bur that is different. There are basically four times when I am away from my family, native place, friend ie Kolkata.
• First, when I was at Allahabad for almost for one year for the PMT coaching.
• Second, when I was at Bangalore around four month for study (Bio Technology).
• Actually third & fourth time are at same place that is at Bhubaneswar- once for NAC BPO project for almost one & half month & next for OeSl project for more than six month ( I am still here!!!!Hopefully will be back after October)
Let me share my experience of both conditions:-
1st Condition (when it flourishes- lets talk about positive part first)
Case 1:- More closely to my Family- I was never so much close to family, it was just like formal acceptance at 10+2. First time, I realised the importance of my family- Specially My Brother. I become closer to both my brother. But when I left home for Bangalore,that was time when there was lot of challenges which I had faced. My mother becomes one of most darling person of my life. There was lot of reason- don’t talk about that. Now, they are most integral part of my any decision which affects me. Trust Me (TM)
Case 2:- Become like True Lover (Bit Filmiiiii)- from very starting days of my teen age, I was most talkative person on Love Tropic. Any where in friend, College, Tuition, relatives or at work- Love was at my every line.Teasing friend, helping in love was my right to express everywhere. There was no such seriousness about the sensitivity, reality of Love. But when I was away from everyone and also my love (Who is there at my every beat, breath- as I assume) at Orissa. I came to know essence of Love. How importance she is in my life? Now I love my love more even at most. Trust Me(TM)
Case 3:- Close to my childhood friend & college friend (It may be situational influence)-Just because of away from Kolkata, there was a thinking that I would be loose my my friend, But I don’t how we become more closer with Childhood friend & College Friend. Now we are at different level of Friendship hood. Trust Me (TM)
Case 4:- Strong bond with my MT Colleague- As two times I was away from my Office because my work. I thought that my colleague would forget me. But frankly we more connected now & team spirit has been reached to another level or next level. Trust Me (TM)
2nd Condition (when it kills- Common thinking)
Case 1:- Lost a very crucial person (Don’t worry it is not my Love)- No more explanation as it is bit difficult to put every things into words. But I lost one important relationship. Trust Me(TM)
Case 2: My boding with my dearest sister get weakens (She was most loving person of my life when I was at Kolkata) – as I have move to other place, our communication become less & less. For every happiness, she was first person. She is still one of my loving person not as it was most loving person. Trust Me(TM)
Case 3:-Few friend have been not in touch now(It is also my fault more)- Just because of lack of time, communication gap, of course I am also not in touch with few friend(Name can’t be disclosed). It is most of my fault, as I was in touch with them. Then how can you expect from other one? But they are still my friend. Once I’ll back- we will rock.Trust Me(TM)

 Arranged marriage 
There are times in a person's life when he needs to take crucial decisions on his own. Marriage is one of them. Believe me, the decision on whom to marry is the most important decision a person will make in his life. After marriage, your wife is the most important person in your life. She can make or break your life. The mere thought of this is very frightening.
 
Some of the questions that crop up are –
·        What sort of a girl do I marry?
·        Will she adjust in my family?
·        How can I decide on a girl by just meeting her for a few times?
·        When should I get married?
·        This is my life. So, I should choose the girl I marry, but then what if I make a mistake?
 
…. so on and so forth…
 
I will try to address these & many more questions in the following sections.
 
The Nine Rules of Arranged marriage 
·        Rule 1 – Magic no. 28
 
In an ideal scenario, a girl goes to college at the age of 18. By the time she graduates, goes for her post graduation and/ or works for 1-2 years, she will be about 23- 24. This means that she has spent about 5 years away from her home. In the 5 years period, she would meet many smart guys at college or during her first few years on job. So, in all probability it would be difficult to find a good girl older than 24 yrs. Secondly, in Indian families there is lot of pressure on the girl's to get married by the time they become 24-25.
 
Statistics says that there is a generation gap after every 5 years. So, in such scenario, one would prefer to marry a girl who is about 3-4 years younger to you. Thus, working backwards, an ideal age for a guy to get married is by 28. Earlier the marriage, the better it is.
 
Well, as we all know, in the current market scenario, there will never be stability in our career. So, I believe there is no such thing as, "I will marry when I settle down".

At times you hear statements like, "I am not getting the right match, I will look after 3 months, I will find a better match then". Well the truth is otherwise. Its important to note that in case there is a perfect match between the two families, the marriage is destined to succeed.

Unlike love marriage, in arranged marriage you first marry a person & then fall in love. So, it's very important that you do a self-assessment on the kind of person you would love. They say, "Opposite attract", while they also say, "Bird of same feather flock together". So, you take a call on what sort of person you like. Take a pen & paper; write down the kind of attributes you are looking for in a girl. Say, she should ideally have the looks of Sonia, the style of Monica, the voice of Sheena, the patience of Rashmi. You will certainly not find the perfect girl, but then you would have a good idea of what you are looking for.. The secret here is to set some minimum criteria for selection. ·        Rule 7 -- Girl's Beauty
 
A girl's looks attract, but then no one wants to end up marrying a dumb blonde. It is like buying your bike. When you initially buy it, you are crazy about the looks, but later on you love it for its reliability, fuel economy & comfort level. Similarly, a girl's looks are important, but then it should not be the most important criteria. Later on it life, you will get bored of her looks. It is then that her personality & behavior will make all the difference to your marriage. I am sure your parents will be able to advice you a lot better on this topic.
 
·        Rule 8 -- Taking advice
 
As I have mentioned in the next rule, it's very important that the final decision on whom to marry must necessarily be yours. However, don't do the mistake of isolating yourself from the world while planning your marriage. Discuss with your parents & very close friends on this issue. They are your well wishers. Secondly, in such important matters its necessary that you analyze all possibilities. Remember, I am not suggesting that you follow others' advice, but don't forget to take their advice.
 
·        Rule 9 -- Own decision
 
All said & done, it's your marriage & your life that is at stake. Once you are married, you & your wife are the only persons who will be facing the music. Don't marry a girl just because your parents or friends asked you to do so. After marriage, if things don't work out & you end up saying, "It's because of my friends or my parents that I married you", then your marriage is destined for disaster. If the girl is of your choice, it is you who will be responsible for whatever happens. That's when the marriage works out perfectly. So, ensure that you marriage the girl of your choice.
 
How to approach the selection process? 
From the day, a person decides to get married; the selection process takes a minimum of 3 months. The whole process needs a lot of patience & commitment. The ideal steps to be followed are:
 
·        Definition phase -- Define the minimum criteria for the kind of life partner you are looking for in terms of education, physical appearance, social status, family values, future career plans. Remember the Rule 3 here.
 
·        Lead Generation phase -- Place ads in various newspapers, magazines, websites, through friends, family friends, family societies & association etc. You need to exhaust all possible means of getting biodatas at one go. Remember the Rule 2 here.
 
·        Short listing phase – Based on your selection criteria, short-list the interesting biodatas. The general process followed for correspondence is as follows:
·        The initiator sends a one page profile of himself/ herself
·        Based on the profile, the receiver sends his/her one page profile along with request for detailed profile, photo, horoscope
·        The initiator then sends the requested information along with a request for similar information
·        The receiver send similar information
·        If the biodata is selected, it is passed over to the next phase
 
·        Casual interaction phase – Based on shortlisting, about 7 to 10 biodatas are taken forwarded to this phase. The next step to follow here is to exchange email/ chat ids. The guy & the girl then interact for 10 – 15 days to try & judge mutual compatibility through email/ chat.

Female Condom

A female condom is a device that is used during sexual intercourse to prevent pregnancy and transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs—such as gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV). Invented by Danish MD Lasse Hessel, it is worn internally by the receptive partner and physically blocks ejaculated semen from entering that person's body. Female condoms have been available now for over 15 years.

Versions and materials

The Female Condom was first made from polyurethane. This version is officially called the "FC Female Condom". Newer iterations are made of nitrile polymer and called "FC2"
[1] (this material change was announced in September 2005).
[2] The newer nitrile condoms are less likely to make potentially distracting crinkling noises. It is hoped the nitrile condoms will also allow for significant reductions in female condom pricing.
[2] This line of condoms is manufactured by the The Female Health Company, USA. FC1 and FC2 are the only female condoms approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for purchase by UN agencies. They are sold under many brand names, including Reality, Femidom, Dominique, Femy, Myfemy, Protectiv and Care.
The most recent version of the female condom is made from natural latex, the same material used in male condoms. This condom does not make the noises some experience with plastic condoms. This type of female condom is manufactured by Medtech Products Ltd, India. It is sold under many brand names, including Reddy, V Amour, L'amour, VA WOW Feminine condom, and Sutra. One more clinical trial is required before it can be considered for FDA approval in the United States.[3]

Effectiveness
Some early tests suggested the Female Condom offered better protection than male condoms, but real-world tests found the original FC to be less effective than male condoms at preventing pregnancy for most people:
Early tests:
A presentation at the 1990 International AIDS conference concluded, "exposure to semen was significantly less (p = .001 and p = .03) when WPC-333 was used than when the male condom was used."
[4] A presentation at the 1989 International AIDS conference concluded that "WPC-333 had significantly fewer water leaks than the male condom at a p-value of .001. The combined probability of risks of leaks, tears and spillage inside the vagina using WPC-333 was 3.3%; the combined probability of risks using the male condom was 11.5%."

Real-world experiments:
The 1992 U.S. FDA approval of the Reality female condom required the label to compare the pregnancy rate for the female condom at 26% per year to a 15% annual rate for the male latex condom. This was based on a U.S. study of 200 women who used the device for six months. In the study, the six-month pregnancy rate was approximately 12.5 percent, or an estimated 26 percent per year. (This includes incorrect and inconsistent use of the condom.)
[6] According to Contraceptive Technology: Eighteenth Revised Edition, the typical use failure rate for the first-generation female condoms lies at 21%. This means that of the women who used female condoms as their only form of birth control, 21 out of 100 became pregnant within one year. Of the women who used the female condom correctly, and used one at every act of intercourse, 5% became pregnant after one year. In comparison, the typical use failure rate for male condoms was 15%, while the perfect use failure rate was 2%.
[7] The effectiveness of the female condom at preventing STDs has not been studied to the same extent as male condoms, however it has been put forth that it should have similar effectiveness to preventing pregnancy. Female condoms are better at preventing some STIs than the traditional condom, this is because they cover more skin, which is the main way skin-to-skin viruses are contracted, such as herpes. They are also dangerous for those who have polyurethane allergies.
[8] Sensitivities to silicone or polyurethane may also be a problem.

Costs and reuse of the (polyurethane) original FC
The per unit price of female condoms is higher than male condoms but there is some evidence to suggest that polyurethane female condoms can be washed, disinfected, and reused.
Re-using the polyurethane Female Condom is not considered as safe as using a new one, however the W.H.O. says, "Batches of new, unused female condoms were subjected to seven cycles of disinfection, washing, drying and re-lubrication, reflecting the steps and procedures in the draft protocol, but at considerably higher concentrations of bleach and for longer durations. All female condom batches met the manufacturing quality assessment specifications for structural integrity after the test cycles. ... Disinfection, washing, drying, re-lubrication and reuse of the device were not associated with penile discharge, symptomatic vaginal irritation or adverse colposcopic findings in study volunteers."
[9] A presentation at the 1998 International AIDS conference concluded that "washing, drying and re-lubricating the female condom up to ten time does not significantly alter the structural integrity of the device. Further microbiological and virological tests are required before re-use of the female condom can be recommended."

Lubrication
As with all barrier contraceptives, water- and silicone-based lubricants are safe to use with a female condom. Oil damages latex and should not be used with a female condom made of latex. Oils should not directly harm a polyurethane (or nitrile) female condom but may cause other health problems (which could weaken defenses against more serious STDs), or make it more difficult to clean and disinfect (without further weakening it
Advantages
The plastic Female condoms have the advantage of being compatible with oil-based lubricants as they are not made of latex.
[11] The external genitals of the wearer and the base of the penis of the inserting partner may be more protected than when the male condom is used, however see studies below. Inserting a female condom does not require male erection.

Worldwide use
Sales of female condoms have been disappointing in developed countries, though developing countries are increasingly using them to complement already existing family planning and HIV/AIDS programming.
[13] Probable causes for poor sales are that inserting the female condom is a skill that has to be learned and that female condoms can be significantly more exp
.ensive than male condoms (upwards of 2 or 3 times the cost). Also, reported "rustling" sounds during intercourse turn off some potential users, as does the visibility of the outer ring which remains outside the vagina.
In November 2005, the World YWCA called on national health ministries and international donors to commit to purchasing 180 million female condoms for global distribution in 2006. Their statement stated that "Female condoms remain the only tool for HIV prevention that women can initiate and control", but that they remain virtually inaccessible to women in the developing world due to their high cost of 72¢ per piece. If 180 million female condoms were ordered, the price of the female condom was projected to decline to 22¢ per female condom.

Debates over terminology
Proponents of same-sex marriage often use the term "equal marriage" to stress that they seek equality as opposed to special rights;

[1] the term "equal marriage" has also been used by feminists to describe any marriage, regardless of the sex of the partners, in which the partners have equal status within the marriage.

[2] Opponents argue that equating same-sex and opposite-sex marriage changes the meaning of marriage and its traditions.

[3] Some opponents use the term "homosexual marriage," and surveys have suggested that the word "homosexual" is more stigmatizing than the word "gay."

[4] Some publications that oppose same-sex marriage put the word marriage in scare quotes when referring to it. One notable publication that practices this is The Washington Times. Cliff Kincaid, a writer for the conservative American media watchdog group Accuracy in Media, agrees with this method, arguing that "marriage" is a word that same-sex couples merely want to apply to themselves, but have no legal ability to do so in most states.

[5] Same-sex marriage supporters argue that it is editorializing and implying inferiority, and point out that the quotes are even used when referring to same-sex marriages in locations where such unions are legal.

[6] Some have suggested reserving the word "marriage" for religious contexts, and in civil and legal contexts using a uniform concept of civil unions. Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, for instance, wrote that such an arrangement would "strengthen the wall of separation between church and state by placing a sacred institution entirely in the hands of the church while placing a secular institution under state control."

The GreekLanguage? has four different words for love to cover different aspects, including (but obviously not limited to) love suited to physical attraction, and love suited to family ties. The fact that we can gloss the four Greek words goes to show that English has several different words for love as well. It might be more accurate to say that Bible translators have used the same English words for these four Greek words. Though this was not always the case (cf faith hope and charity becoming faith hope and love in the newer translations.)
Note that that does not mean that the words "love" and "charity" are synonyms in the English language. I would also challenge that they are even near-synonyms in general in Christianity, even if they might be due to context in that part of the bible. Storge was rarely used, but it could refer to familial affection or (less frequently) sexual love. It appears in the Bible (actually the NT) only in the compound word filostorgos in Romans 12:10. Eros we could gloss as "desire" (or any of its English synonyms). It does not appear in the NT. Scholars currently think that agape and filia mean the same thing when they refer to love. This conclusion is based on diachronic studies performed by Robert Joly in 1968. In the Hellenistic period, the verb kunein ("to kiss") was falling out of use because it sounded like kuein ("to impregnate"), especially in the aorist where the forms are exactly alike. This no doubt resulted in various unsavory puns. So people started to use the word filein ("to love") to refer to kissing. Then the word agapan ("to be content with") they began to use to refer to love. In the koine of the NT, both agapan and filein were in common use as words for love.

There are many different meanings we attach to the word love, but the most important aspect of all of them, and probably the only one that applies across all meanings, is the promise not to betray.
(Note that this does not work in reverse - not every strategy to escape the prisoners dilemma would be considered love)
This is hysterical. In fact, many relationships described by "love" (especially infatuation) involve betrayal. What you've defined is no more than "trust" and trust is not very useful for defining love.
I would argue that infatuation is not the same as love. If you're using the word love differently from how I, and I believe most people, do, I apologize for confusing you, but it might be better if you were to use words in the same sense that other people do or there may be further confusion.
My above definition, furthermore, does not describe trust - trust is the belief that someone else won't betray you, as opposed to love, the commitment not to betray someone else. Love would spur a person to choose to co-operate even if they weren't certain (on purely rational grounds) that the other party would do likewise.
So let me refine my definition: love is the tendency not to betray, without necessarily having any particular reason to do this. This, of course, has an upside and a downside - it leaves one open to betrayal, but it tends towards a forgive-and-forget strategy which ensures that one can escape the continuous loop of betrayals that a TitForTat strategy might bring.
I should "use words in the same sense that other people do"? That's hysterical. Other people use the word "love" for a very much larger range of emotions, sensations, and mental conditions than I do.
The word is often misused to refer to infatuation, ecstatic union, submission and domination in addition to the modern romantic love ("in love"), devotion (parental or filial) and affection. The meaning of "love" as expressed by parents in antiquity was denuded of affection or any warm feelings, and is best translated as domination. Meanwhile, the "love" automatically granted to feudal masters is best translated as submission. You would be wrong to dismiss this as ancient barbarism since to this day there exist people in supposedly advanced nations that can't distinguish submission from love. Your description of trust is wrong-headed. What you describe as love is the essence of trust. Trust is not a belief, it is a self-fulfilling predisposition towards others. Trust is that general mental condition which allows a person to believe that others won't betray them. This condition is not and can never be anything as intellectual or sterile as reason or rationality.
The term 'love', even in its restricted sense of a general mental condition which inspires the specific emotion of affection, is not captured by your description of non-betrayal. No form, concept, combination or abstraction of love is captured by your definition of it. Your definition is simply wrong. Fortuitously, it can easily be recycled as a definition of trust.
Why self-fulfilling? In certain circumstances (relating to reason), trust may be explicitly based on reason.
Let's look at distrust to clarify some matters. What causes distrust? Paranoia, anxiety and fear. These emotions are seldom rational, and very rarely useful. The rush of adrenaline caused by fear is not merely no longer relevant in today's modern world, it is actively dangerous.
Even in such supposedly intellectual cases where a person is a religious fanatic or right-winger, it takes very little digging to get at the fact that the anxiety and fear is fundamental, and the belief is a rationalization. (There's a June issue of New Scientist about trust which mentions the fact that trust and religiosity are negatively correlated.)
Even in that supposedly intellectual enterprise of foreign policy, the whole dynamic is driven by base emotion. When a population feels intense anxiety, they will invent enemies, provoke them into action, and attack based on arguments so thin you couldn't wipe yourself with them. When such people can't find or invent any enemies, they will progressively feel themselves going insane. And when, eventually, stuff happens and a dispute occurs with someone, they will be happy that an enemy has finally been identified and "it's not all in their head", which only proves that it is. These lunatics then happily proceed to murder the first person to look at them cross-eyed. The origins of war are explained this way.
So taking the converse of distrust, it follows that trust is almost always rational but that this is never the determinant factor in whether or not an individual or society is trusting. The lack of emotional handicaps preventing people from basing their actions on reason is a wonderful development of the modern age. Reason alone explains precisely nothing of human behaviour.
Why is trust self-fulfilling? First, because of selection bias. If you trust in people, you will find plenty of reason to vindicate your beliefs. If you don't, ditto. Second, because other people automatically react to your attitude. If you place trust in people, they will live up to your expectations, leading to a virtuous cycle. If you do not, they will live down to your expectations, leading to a vicious cycle. Third, because your actions will subconsciously create the situation you believe in. If you don't trust someone, you will automatically antagonize them because you "know" they're untrustworthy.

Kalam - Bush - Rice - Joke

While visiting
India , George Bush is invited to tea

with Abdul Kalam.

He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He

Love Story

Chapter One

What is Love? It is something everyone knows and at the same time it is something which only few understand. Though many people fail to understand what Love is, it still remains the crux of everyone's life. What about me? Am I in the group of people who know what Love is but did not understand it or am I in the group of a lucky few who are lucky enough to understand it, feel it and appreciate it? I don't know. I am still searching for the answer.

February 27th, 2004

The stadium is roaring with the name 'Aaryan'. The Indian flag was flying high all over the place. Its 2007 world cup and India is facing Australia in the finals. India is only inches away from the victory. It needs four runs in last over. If it scores four runs in the last over India will win the world cup after 24 years. It's definitely a long long wait. In the last world cup in 2003, India lost the finals against Australia. After four years the same teams meet again in the finals and this time the story is different. India is winning and the credit goes to one and only one 'Aaryan'.

I looked around me. We need four runs in the last over to win the match. It's my turn and I am standing at the crease facing Brett Lee. I can feel the expectations of millions of people on me. The first ball is a bouncer. I tried to hit it and could not make a contact with the ball. Now we need four runs in five balls. The pressure is taking toll upon me. I need two runs to score 150 and four runs to win the match. I don't want it to take till the end. I closed my eyes and prayed to god.

The stadium is completely silent. Tension is mounting. Brett Lee is running towards me with the ball in his hand. I prepared myself to strike back. Suddenly he stopped. He came walking towards me. He came closer to me, took the bat from me and started hitting me on my head with the bat. I did not understand what's happening.

I heard some familiar voice shouting at me from somewhere inside my head.
"Get up... Get up. You sleepy head" I woke up with Priya hitting me on my head and shouting at me.
"Stop it" I said opening my eyes. "It hurts. Why do you always hit me like that?" I asked rubbing my shoulder.
"To keep you awake" she said laughing.
I looked out of the window. Its dark outside and the bus is moving at a rapid pace on the express highway.
"Where are we right now?" I asked her.
"Just passed Lonavala" she said.
"The bus is still in Lonavala!!! And you woke me from a good sleep. You know what a great dream I just had. Just a few more balls and I would have won India the world cup. You spoiled all the fun."
"Don't start all over again. You and your stupid dreams." she said hitting me again. "By the way what are the plans for the weekend?"

"Nothing as such" I said looking out of the window. The weather is chilling outside. The bus has just passed Lonavala. Lonavala is a well known picnic place for its scenic beauty and innumerable trekking spots. It's located between Mumbai and Pune.

By the way, I am Aaryan working in Infosys Technologies Ltd, Pune. My parents live in Mumbai and I go to Mumbai every weekend. I am now traveling to Mumbai on a typical Friday evening. The distance between Pune and Mumbai is close to 150 Kms. Thanks to Neeta Volvo and Express highway; it takes just an hour and half to reach Mumbai. But unfortunately it takes more than two hours to reach my house in Andheri from the outskirts of Mumbai due to heavy traffic. As we have just passed Lonavala, it's another three and a half hour journey to my home.

Now that I have given my introduction and told you something about me, let me take you through some beautiful days of my life. This is my love story. This is the story of me, myself and Priya.

Chapter Two

July 30th, 2003

This is the day I joined Infosys - Pune Development Center. After completion of training in Bangalore, I was transferred to Pune. Pune is a great city and is known as the cultural city of Maharashtra. It's famous for its rich heritage of the great Maratha kings. Surrounded by Western Ghats, it is famous for its innumerable trekking spots. Each and every trekking spot is unique in its own style. I am very fond of photography and that made me inclined towards trekking.

After I shifted to Infosys Pune Dvelopment Centre, I was put on bench. If you are not in the IT field I am sorry, let me tell you what bench is. Just imagine that you work day and night, you don't have time even to eat or sleep, you are working really hard on your project, you take the whole responsibility, and you feel the deadlines coming hard at you. Now come to the real world. Bench is just doing opposite of this and still receiving the same amount of salary at the end of the month.

As I was on the bench, I used to leave office early. So, I need something for passing time in the evening. The first and the foremost thing I looked is for a movie theatre. I am very fond of movies. From the days of my college, I used to watch movies every weekend. I did not miss movies even during my final exams. Fortunately I found a multiplex named 'E-Square' near my address. And this theatre became the venue for the beginning of my Love Story. That's an unforgettable incident...

August 8th, 2003

A new movie named 'Koi Mil gaya' was released on that day. As I have no work, I went to the theatre early and brought the tickets. The show was at 10:40 PM. I was waiting for my room mate Vinod at the theatre. The theatre was full.

"Oh God... It's already 10:30 PM and this Vinod did not turn up till now" I cursed him for being late.
If I don't see a movie right from the titles, I feel that I have not done proper justice to the hundred bucks that I spent on watching the movie. Suddenly my mobile came to life…
"Hello... Vinod... What... Where are you...You are telling me now... What should I do with this ticket...?"
I did not know what to do. Now I need to sell the extra ticket. Suddenly I heard someone calling me.

"Excuse me..." a girl was calling me.
"Are you calling me?" I asked. I scanned my database but it did not give any result. I did not see her before or I could not remember that I saw her anytime before.
"I think you have an extra ticket" she said pointing towards the ticket I was holding.
"Yup... my friend got stuck up with some crap work in his project. So, now I have to sell this ticket"
"Can you sell that ticket to me? I am looking for one"
"Sure. Take it. You have saved my time" I said giving the ticket to her.
She took out a Five Hundred note and handed it over to me.
"Hey wait... I don't have a change for Five hundred" I said searching my wallet.
"Oh. I don't have any other change"
"It's OK. You can find the change in the canteen inside the theatre. Now Lets move." I said. "The movie is about to begin"
We moved inside. The movie is being shown on Screen 4. It's on the second floor.
"Did you come alone?" I asked her.
"No... I came with my friends. We came here to watch 'Koi Mil Gaya'. We did not get the tickets. So, my friends went to the movie 'Darna Mana hain'. I don't like horror movies. I was about to return back to home and just then I heard to you talking on the phone"
"Oh..." I said stepping out of the elevator. "By the way, I am Aaryan"
"Ooops... I am sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Priya"
"Good name... So, you are studying here?"
"No, I am working in Wipro"
"Oh... the one located in Hinjewadi. That's great. I work in Infosys"
"That's cool..." She said adjusting her hair over the face.
We went inside the theatre.
"I just want to inform my friends that I am here. If you don't mind, can I make an SMS from your mobile?"
"Sure. No problem. Carry on" I said giving her my mobile.

I dont know what Hrithik got from 'Koi Mil Gaya' but I found the best friend of my life. And thus our story started and it's just only the beginning.

Chapter Three

Aug 29th, 2003

It was Friday. I was going to Mumbai that evening. I was reading 'Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix', the latest book of Harry Potter series at that time. Harry Potter books take you into a new world of imagination and you never get tired of reading those books again and again. Some movie was playing in the bus. I was completely involved in the book.

"Hello Aaryan" I heard some one calling me. It was Rahul. He is a friend of Vinod. They work in the same project.
"Hey Rahul, How are you?"
"Not bad. How is your work in the project going on?"
"Hmmm. Fortunately or unfortunately I am not still allocated to any project. I am still on bench" I said.
"Are you still on Bench? You are lucky man"
"I don't know. Everyone say that I am lucky. But I don't feel so. I want some project" I said.
"Why are you taking load about the project? Enjoy the bench. This chance will never come again" he said.
"I don't know. May be you are right. Anyway I am enjoying the bench. See, I completed four books of Harry Potter and am reading the fifth one" I said showing him the book I was holding.
"Great dude, Anyway What are the plans for the weekend?"
"Nothing... Day after tomorrow it's Ganesh Chaturthi and I need to make preparations for it" I said getting back to my reading.

Harry Potter just formed a group called DA. The story is getting more and

more interesting. After some time, the bus stopped near a hotel. I got down to get something to eat. There are three or four buses at the hotel and the hotel was filled with passengers. I bought Samosa and a Pepsi for myself. I found a corner seat and sat down to eat.

"Hi... How are you?" I heard a familiar voice. I looked up.
"Did you recognize me?" She asked.
"Yeah... You are the girl that I met at the theatre"
"Yes. You are Aaryan. Right?"
"Yeah. But I am sorry. I forgot your name. I am really poor at remembering names"
"It's OK. I am Priya"
"Oh. I remember now. So, how are you?" I said smiling at her.
"I am doing well. I tried to call you after that day. But I was not able to reach you"
"You tried to call me? But why and how did you get my number?"
"I owe you a hundred bucks for the movie. We both forgot about it after the movie. So, I was trying to reach you to give you back the money"
"I completely forgot about that money. But, where did you get my number?"
"Do you remember I made an SMS from your mobile to my friend? I got the number from there. So, what happened to your mobile? Whenever I tried to call you, it always gave a message that your mobile was switched off."
"Actually, I had a small problem with my mobile. I dropped it in the water accidentally. I had to give it for repair. Now its fine"
"Anyway, here is the money I owe you. Thanks for the movie that day." She said giving me the money.
"You are welcome" I said
"By the way where do you live in Mumbai?" she asked.
"Andheri West near Lokhandwala" I said.
"I live in Borivali" she said.
"That's too far" I said.
"Yes. It takes lot of time to reach there" She said. "By the way what is the book you are reading?" She asked.
"This is the fifth part of Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" I said showing her the cover of the book.
"I read the first part of Harry Potter. I really liked it and I am looking for the other parts. Do you have them?"
"Yes. I have them in my room in Pune. I can give them to you on Monday. Just call me on Monday"
"Thanks a lot" she said.
One of the buses gave a honk indicating its departure.
"My bus is about to leave. I am leaving. See you on Monday. By the way Happy Ganesh Chaturthi" She said leaving.
"Same to you" I said.

That was our second meeting. Thanks to Harry Potter, our meetings continued. She called me on Monday for the books. Our friendship grew slowly and she became my best friend. We travel to Mumbai and back to Pune together every weekend. One more great change in my boring life is that after three months I was allocated to a project. I gave a big party to my friends that day.

Chapter Four

Priya and I became very good friends. We go to Mumbai together every weekend. I always look to her whenever I need any advice, whenever I need any help and she is always there for me.

January 20th, 2004

"You are again late" Priya said showing her watch.
"OK.. OK I am only ten minutes late" I said.
"Ten minutes!!! I am already late for the party..."
"Don't worry, I just called Swetha and she said the party did not start yet"
"Just shut up... and now start the bike" she said sitting on the bike.

She is always like that, always hurrying, fighting, shouting at people, but at the same time she is very caring, sweet and beautiful. She has a great passion for books. You always find her reading books. She is very much fond of English literature and comics. She is very sensitive and emotional. She cries watching typical tragedy Hindi movies and at the same time she is best in consoling people when they are sad. I am really proud to have her as a friend and she is my best friend.

February 27th, 2004

"On Sunday we are planning to play Cricket in Juhu beach" said Rahul in the bus.
I was traveling to Mumbai on Friday evening.
"Are you coming?" Rahul asked.
"No yaar... I have some work at home. I cannot come" I said.
"Come on yaar... what work do you have on the weekend and that too on Sunday? It'll be fun. You must come" he insisted.
"I am sorry. I promise I will come next time but leave me this time" I said.
"OK." he said and turned to plan for the match with others.
The bus just got on to the Express Highway. There's still lot of time to reach my home. Priya was reading a book. I prepared myself to take a nap. I pushed the seat back. I don't know how long I slept but suddenly I woke up with Priya hitting me on my head.

"Get up.. Get up. You sleepy head" I woke up with Priya is hitting me on my head and shouting at me.
"Stop it" I said opening my eyes. "It hurts. Why you always slap me like that?" I asked rubbing my shoulder.

"Where are we right now?" I asked her.

"I told you, I don't have any plans. Why?" I asked.
"Nothing" She said "I will call you over the weekend if I feel bored in the house"
She returned to her reading as usual. After three hours we reached Mumbai.

February 29th, 2004

"A girl named Priya called twice for you" Mom said.
I just came from a shop nearby to bring some household items.
"Who is she?" My mother asked.
"She is a friend of mine" I said.
"Oh.. A Girl Friend. Hmmm" Mom said winking at me.
"Don't start it again Mom. She is just a friend" I said.
From the day I got a job in Infosys my Mom started bugging me for my marriage. She wants a daughter in law. She wants to see me living happily with a wife and two kids just like the one in a typical Hindi serial. The phone rang and I know that this call is from Priya.

"Hi Aaryan ... this is Priya. What are you doing?"
"Nothing" I said.
"Where did you go when I called you?"
"Just went to a shop nearby. Mom told me that you called twice. What happened?"
"There is a big exhibition at Juhu this weekend. Come on let's go"
"What? Now?"
"Yes. Be ready, I will be waiting for you at Andheri station"
"But..." I tried to argue.
"Nothing doing. You are coming and I will wait for you." She said and the phone went off.
"This girl never leaves me an option" I thought.

Is it only with Priya or is it with all the girls? They never leave any options. If a girl insists, you have to accept it. Otherwise you are dead. If you give a little freedom, these girls conquer you completely. They make you obey them. With due respect to female community, this is just my opinion. May be I am wrong. But with Priya I am not wrong. She is always like that. If she plans something, she never gives you any other option. You have to follow her plan. Now, please excuse me I need to get ready and start for Andheri railway station. She will kill me even if I am a minute late.
Chapter Five

February 29th, 2004

"Where are you going?" Mom asked.
"Juhu beach" I said wearing my shoes.
After twenty minutes I am at Andheri Station. Priya is already waiting for me. She gave an angry look.

"Aaryan, you are becoming lazy day by day" she said.
"Wait, let me explain. You called me suddenly and I just came from the shop. I need to get ready and it takes time"
"OK.. OK. Now don't make late. Let's go" she said sitting on my bike.
In half an hour we are in Juhu beach. I parked my bike.
"ISKON temple first" she said. I simply followed her orders.
ISKON temple otherwise known as "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" temple is located near Juhu beach. It's well known for its beautiful construction. We went inside the temple. The temple is very well maintained. It's a very peaceful place.
"Let's sit here" she said. We sat down there on the steps. She took out a packet from her hand bag.
"Happy Birthday" she said handing the packet to me.
"Hey... What is this? How do you know that today is my Birthday?" I asked. I did not expect this. I was really surprised.
"What do you think? You are my best friend. Even if you don't tell me about your birthday I can find it out"
"I am sorry. Actually, I don't like to celebrate birthdays and so I did not tell anyone"
"You don't like celebrating birthdays? Why?" She asked.
"I have my own principles. One should celebrate his birthday only when he achieves something, only when one attains some meaning to his life"
"I did not get you"
"See, each and every person have their own birthday one day or the other. It's nothing special. What did you achieving by coming to this world? Why do you celebrate it when being born is a common thing? According to me, a person gets eligible to celebrate his birthday only when his life has got a meaning, only when he can create a line for himself in the .pages of history..."
"Stop it. Stop it…" She said. "You are becoming too philosophical"
"I told you. I have my own principles"
"See, why do you think you are not special? May be you are not special to yourself. But you are special to someone in this world. You are special to your parents. You are special to your friends. You are special to me. You don't celebrate birthdays for yourself. But, you celebrate birthdays for people who think that you are special. So, Never think you are not special. Once again, Many Many Happy returns of the day"
I did not understand what to say.
"Now, Will you open the packet and see what I bought for you?" she said. I opened the packet. It's a beautiful key chain with my name inscribed on the glass plate.
"This is really good. Thanks for the gift" I said.
"So, how much old are you now?"
"Six years"
"Six years?"
"Yup. Today is February 29th and my birthday comes once in every four years. So I am just six years old"
"That's lovely. So you claim that you are still a kid"
"Am I not?" I said laughing. She also laughed. She looks really beautiful when she laughs.

After an hour we went to the beach. Its 11:30 AM. There are very few people in the beach.
"You said that there is some exhibition going on here" I asked Priya.
"I just lied to you to bring you here" she said smiling. "This is my most favorite spot in Mumbai. When I was small, we used to live in Juhu. I used to come here daily after the school in the evening to play. I have lot of memories in this beach"
"That's good" I said. "The school days were always great"
We walked across the beach chatting. Thanks to Priya, this is turning out to be the best birthday of my life. I am really proud to have a friend like her.

"Hey… Aaryan?" I heard someone calling. I turned around. It's Rahul.
"Hi Rahul.. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I must ask you that question" he said. "I am here to play cricket. I told you day before yesterday in the bus. You said you have some work"
"Yeah. Actually I have got lot of work to do. But what can I do? Priya forced me to come here" I said. "By the way, you don't know Priya. Do you?"
"No" he said.
"Hey Priya, this is Rahul and Rahul this is Priya. She works in Wipro" I said introducing Priya to Rahul.
"Nice meeting you Priya" said Rahul.
Someone called Rahul.
"Sorry. I must leave. It's my turn to bat. We are playing a match here" he said leaving. He gave an angry look at me and left.
"Priya, I am dead now" I said.
"What happened?"
"When Rahul asked me to come to Juhu beach to play cricket, I said that I have some work. Now I am here with you at the same place"
"So?"
"Don't you understand? He saw me with you. I am trapped" I said.

We went back to home in the evening. I felt as if the weekend has gone very fast. >From tomorrow, again it's the same, the same work, the same code, the same defects and the same testing. But still I feel something good. I feel a change in me. I don't know why and what it is. But I am going find it out very soon.

Chapter Six

March 1st, 2004

After a great Sunday, Monday is always a disaster. Today we found a defect in our code and we are asked to fix it immediately. I had to stay till 11:00 PM in the night to complete it. I returned back to room at 12:00 Midnight. My room mate Vinod was waiting for me.

"What happened?" Vinod asked. "Why are you so late?"
"Don't ask. Today we had to deliver a critical fix and it took so long"
"By the way Rahul is very angry upon you"
"Why? Oh.. What can I do? Priya forced me to Juhu beach. Otherwise I have no intention of moving out of my home"
"I don't know. He was spreading rumors"
"Rumors?? What rumors?"
"Rumors about you and Priya"
"Priya is just my friend. What is wrong in this? Why is he after me?"
"I don't know. Now you are trapped. People will start teasing you with the name of that girl" he said laughing. "And I am not going to leave this opportunity. Now I got you"
"Come on. Stop it man" I said beating him with the towel in my hand.

It did not stop with Vinod. The word spread across our friends that I have a Girl Friend. My friends started teasing me with the name of Priya. Some of them went too far saying that we are engaged.

"You did not say that you got engaged" My PM asked me one day.
"Nothing like that. People are just teasing me" I said.
"Why don't you bring her to the project party next week?" he asked.

I did not have any answer. People started asking parties for my engagement. Whenever I receive a phone call, they started looking at me as if I got a phone call from my fiancee. Thank god Priya is not in Infosys. If she is in Infosys, she would have known about this and I would have been in an embarrassing situation.

"I will ask you one question. Answer me seriously" Vinod asked one day.
"What?"
"Do you love Priya?" he asked.
"Oh..No.. Not again. Stop it" I said showing some irritation in my voice.
"I am not teasing you. I am asking you seriously" he said.
"Why do you ask?" I said.
"Because, I feel that you are in love with Priya. Now a days you talk more about Priya and less about yourself. I am your room mate. I am your friend. You cannot hide anything from your friend" he said.
I fell silent for a minute.
"Come on, tell me. Are you in love with her?" Vinod asked.
"I don't know" I said.
"I got the answer" he said. "You are in love with her"
"How do you conclude that? I did not say that I am in love with her"
"You did not say 'No'. You said you don't know. Love always starts with a dilemma. Now you are in a situation that you don't know whether you are in Love or not. Think of it. Listen to your heart. Spend sometime alone. Come out of the dilemma. You will definitely find an answer" he said.
I did not speak a word. I did not understand what to say.
"By the way, you two make a good pair" Vinod said leaving.

I don't know whether Vinod started this conversation seriously or to tease me but I started thinking of what Vinod said. Am I in Love?

Priya - It means 'one who is liked by everyone'. In one word it means 'Beloved'. What does she mean to me? I always thought that Love stories exist only in movies. They never exist in real world. But what is this called? Is this Love? I don't know. I can say that I like her very much. But there is a difference between liking and loving. You can like many people but you can love only one.
